PlasmAcute AS is a 100% daughter of Novel Diagnostics ASA, a privately held, venture backed company in Bergen, Norway.

The Company investigates the utility of antibody detection in B-lymphocytes thus enabling early diagnosis of infectious diseases before antibodies are detectable in plasma. Clinical data have been gathered in the fields of influenza, HIV and hepatitis B vaccination.

PlasmAcute was established as a spin-off to the University of Bergen, Norway, on the basis of research by Prof. Lars R. Haaheim. Prof. Haaheim is Professor of Immunochemistry, and was at the time head of the department of microbiology and immunology at the University of Bergen. The rights to the technology are held by PlasmAcute AS.
