Thomas Grünfeld, Chairman

Partner for Sarsia Life Science Fund, a €40 million venture fund targeting life science opportunities in the Nordic region. Mr Grünfeld has 12 years experience from finance, business development and management consulting from McKinsey and Kistefos AS and operational management experience from several early stage companies in the life science and technology sectors. Mr Grünfeld is a Medical Doctor with clinical and molecular biology experience.

Erik Hornes
Dr. Hornes is CSO in NorDiag ASA, a publicly listed biotech company in Norway. He has 20 years experience in biotechnology. He was the CEO of Genpoint from 2006 until March 2007, CSO and VP Technology Dvlp in Dynal Biotech (2003-2004). Furthermore he co-founded, and acted as CSO of GenoVision (1998-2003) and as CSO of Dynal Biotech (1992-1998). Previous experience also from Alpharma (1983-1992). Dr. Hornes holds a PhD from the University of Oslo.

Markus Maeurer
Professor Dr. Mark Maeurer is professor of clinical immunology at the Microbiology and Tumor Cell Biology Center at the Karolinska Institute and section head of translational immunology at the Swedish Center for Infectious Disease control. Previously, he was vice director of the Dept. of Medical Microbiology at the University of Mainz and assistant professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Maeurer’s research focus is on memory immune responses and immune-reconstitution. He has a strong publication record and serves as reviewer for a number of international science journals. Dr. Maeurer is a Medical Doctor and is board certified in Medical Microbiology.

Christian Horn
Mr. Horn is CEO and founder of Screencancer AS/Inc, a company in the medical diagnostics industry with operations in Europe and the United States. From 2002-2005, he was the CEO of Novel Diagnostics ASA and responsible for the commercial development of daughter companies NorDiag and PlasmAcute. In 2005, NorDiag was spun off from Novel Diagnostics and listed on the Oslo stock exchange, with Mr. Horn as CEO. Mr. Horn holds a BBA from the College of William & Mary, USA and an Advanced Management Degree from Oxford University, UK.
