Early and precise detection of infectious diseases

Identifying the acute phase of an infection can be crucial for successful treatment and in limiting the spread of disease. For many infections, a time lapse exists between initial infection and the detection of antibodies. 1

Molecular testing has been shown to narrow this time gap, known as the window phase, and therewith achieve higher sensitivity than many immunoassay tests. Our clinical results suggest that PlasmAcute has the potential to match or surpass molecular technology in this capacity. PlasmAcute can detect disease as soon as within a few days after infection.

PlasmAcute is based on the concept of detecting antibodies directly in their production source: B lymphocytes. Antibodies can be found in these blood cells days before release into the blood stream, and before the virus has replicated sufficiently.
